Welcome to music class at the Donovan!

The 2017-18 school year is off to a great start!  All students at M.L. Donovan Elementary School receive weekly music instruction.  In general music class we explore the music of many different cultures and time periods.  Through singing, playing instruments, music composition, movement activities and listening exercises, students learn about the main elements of music including melody, harmony, notation, rhythm, form, and style.

Check out the Notes from the Music Room page to read more about what we're learning in general music!

Students in 4th and 5th grade also have the opportunity to join band and chorus.  Check out the Donovan Band and Chorus webpages to learn more.
