
Kaitlyn Sicinski is thrilled to join the Randolph Music Department. She currently teaches band, chorus, and general music at Margaret L. Donovan Elementary School. Prior to her move to Massachusetts, Ms. Sicinski taught music in Southern Iowa for three years. Her position included middle and high school band and chorus, elementary band, and elementary general music. Ms. Sicinski was also principal clarinetist of the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra and the Southeast Iowa Concert Band.
Ms. Sicinski graduated from the University of North Texas in 2014. She holds a Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance with a related field in Wind Conducting. She was a Winds and Percussion Scholarship recipient, and was inducted into the Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society. While at UNT, Ms. Sicinski participated in recording projects with the North Texas Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band. She can be heard on recordings including GIA Composers Collection: George Gershwin, Composers Collection: Leonard Bernstein, Offerings, and A Few Notes Among Friends: The Music of Julie Giroux. She also performed with the Dallas Civic Wind Ensemble. Ms. Sicinski participated in the 2013 UNT Conductor's Collegium, studying conducting with Eugene Corporon and Dennis Fisher. She performed with the North Texas Wind Symphony as both a conductor and a clarinetist.
Ms. Sicinski completed her B.M. in Music Education in 2012 at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. She graduated summa cum laude and was the 2012 recipient of the Rocque F. Dominic Outstanding Clarinetist Award. While in Potsdam, Ms. Sicinski performed with ensembles including the Northern Symphonic Winds, Crane Symphony Orchestra, and Crane Wind Ensemble. As a conductor, Ms. Sicinski was privileged to work with the Crane Clarinet Choir and the Potsdam Community Band. A prior New York All-State vocalist, Ms. Sicinski was also happy to also continue singing with the SUNY Potsdam Musical Theater Organization.
Ms. Sicinski's primary clarinet teachers include Dr. John Scott and Dr. Raphael P. Sanders, Jr. In addition to teaching music at the Donovan, Ms. Sicinski teaches private instrumental music lessons at Derby Academy in Hingham, MA. She also performs as a clarinetist with the Metropolitan Wind Symphony.
