Jacqueline Carvey, RHS Choral Director

Jacqueline Carvey has been the Choral Director at Randolph High School since 2007. She directs the Concert Chorale, A Cappella Choir, the Randolph High School Chamber Singers and teaches Introductory Piano. Her students have attended the SEMSBA and Southeast District Music Festivals in addition to performing at various community events on the South Shore. Last year, the RHS Chamber Singers made their debut at the MICCA music festival in Norwood, Massachusetts, where they earned a bronze medal.
Jackie is a 2007 graduate of the University of Maine. While there, Jackie sang with the University of Maine Singers and the female a cappella group Renaissance. She can be heard on the recordings Sure on this Shining Night and Illuminate, respectively. She served as the Assistant Conductor of Collegiate Chorale, and in Opera Workshop, she sang selections as Miss Todd from Menotti's The Old Maid and the Thief, and the title role in scenes from Puccini's Suor Angelica.
Jackie has adjudicated both at the SEMSBA Music Festival Auditions and NATS Competition in Massachusetts. She has studied conducting with Dr. Dennis K. Cox at the University of Maine and Dr. Willam Weinert at the Eastman School of Music. She enjoys staying busy during the summers: she has performed with the Harvard Summer Chorus under the direction of Dr. Andrew Clark, and most recently in the 2012 PortOpera production of Madama Butterfly under the direction of Dona D. Vaughn. She has also taught Creative Writing to students at the Days in the Arts Summer Program in Lenox, Massachusetts. Jackie has studied voice with Karen Pendleton, Nancy Ellen Ogle, Dr. Robert McIver and currently with Gina Beck of Boston Conservatory. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
